During her stay, she explored the New York metropolitan area and learned about its diverse communities by volunteering during the academic year or summer. In addition to this, she also enjoyed community outings, life skills classes, and enrollment in the intercultural communication course and Perspectives of the Global Christian Movement course. Participating in community service is an excellent way for middle and high school students to explore an interest or discover a new one. Cheyanne recently returned to JAARS with 15 other students for the last time since graduating from high school in May.
